FAQ FOR TEACHER
The Economics Explorer Competition is the newly rebranded version of the Kijang Econokids and Economics Competition, offering a fresh and unified platform for students to explore the world of economics.
Economics Explorer Competition stands as an impactful online national competition designed for primary, secondary school and pre-university students. Its main goal is to challenge participants in areas such as economics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business.
Economics Explorer Competition program in Malaysia comprises four stages;
1. Malaysian Economics Olympiad (MyEO)
2. National Selection Camp
3. National Training Camp
4. International Economics Olympiad (IEO)
Malaysian Economics Olympiad (MyEO) represents a significant opportunity for Malaysian students to delve into various aspects of economics, including macroeconomics, finance, microeconomics, entrepreneurship, and investment. This competition is designed for secondary school students aged 13 to 19 as of December 31st in the year of the competition, as well as pre-university students.
Top performers in MyEO earn the opportunity to attend the National Selection Camp and 5 best participants will then be selected to join the National Training Camp at once to represent Malaysia in the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026.
Each school is required to appoint at least one Teacher-In-Charge (TIC) responsible for handling registration, payment, and overseeing the competition day. The designated teacher must have a ContestHub account to ensure our secretary is informed that you are the TIC representing your school. To be officially recognized as the TIC, please reach out to our customer support team using the phone number provided in FAQs 16.
If your school participated in the Kijang Economics/Ekonokids Competition in 2024 and you are still teaching at the same school, you do NOT need to create a new ContestHub account. You can use your existing account to register for the upcoming competition by logging in with the same username and password. Please remember to update your profile details.
For the Economics Explorer Competition, our system allows up to three teachers-in-charge to be assigned per school. If your school requires more than three teachers, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team for assistance.
Yes, you will need to create a new account on ContestHub to register your students. If you use your previous ContestHub account, we will assumed that the students belong to your previous school and that you are still a teacher there. Creating a new account ensures accurate school and teacher information.
We do not have any minimum or maximum requirements for registration, as we warmly welcome all schools to participate in our competition.
