Introduction
The Kijang Econokids Competition stands as an impactful online national competition designed for primary school students aged from 10 to 12 years old. Its primary goal is to challenge participants in areas such as basic economics, mathematics, basic financial literacy, and basic business management.
Kijang Econokids goes beyond traditional assessment methods by aiming to ignite a competitive spirit among students. By offering a platform that allows participants to refine and enhance their basic economic and basic financial literacy, the competition becomes a catalyst for individual growth and development in these crucial areas.
A notable feature of Kijang Econokids is its unique approach to questioning, connecting economics and financial concepts to both local and global economies throughout history. The competition format, consisting of multiple-choice questions and tests, requires participants to apply their understanding of basic economics and mathematics concepts to address challenges related to financial literacy and business management.
The competition will take place on 26th June 2024.

Kijang's syllabus incorporates the Malaysian school syllabus to ensure that the competition is directly relevant to what students are learning in their classrooms.
Competition Format
- The competition is online-based and administered at each participating school under the invigilation of Teacher-In-Charge.
- There are 30 multiple choice questions for each category.
- The duration is 1 hour 15 minutes.
- The questions are available in English and Bahasa Melayu.
- All participants need internet access to take part in the competition.
Language
All questions will be prepared in English and Bahasa Melayu only.

How to
register?
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- On the competition day, the schools will conduct the contest at their own venues.
- Schools are responsible in enforcing the regulations of the competition.
- It is strongly advisable for all participants to sit for the competition at once, the teacher-in-charge has the flexibility to arrange for participants to answer questions in batches if necessary.
- In case of disconnection, participants are allowed to resume once the internet connection is restored. However, any time lost due to the disconnection is counted towards the 75-minute time limit. Therefore, it helps to ensure that the internet connection is stable before starting the competition. .
Competition Procedure
Registration:
• Registration for the competition is done by teacher-in-charge at www.contesthub.my/register.
• The registration requires school, teacher, and student details.
• Payment for the competition is made during the registration process.
Confirmation and Information:
• Once registered, participants will receive the competition manual, username, and password on Contesthub a few days before the competition day.
Competition Day:
• Schools conduct the competition at their own venues during the competition period.
• The teacher-in-charge oversees the competition, ensuring that it adheres to standard examination or competition regulations.
Result Announcement:
• Approximately 3 months after the competition, the results are announced.
• This time frame allows for the careful evaluation and validation of participants' performance.
Certificates and Medals:
• E-certificates are provided to participants through Contesthub.
• Hardcopies of certificates and medals for winners are couriered to the respective schools.
